Welcome to the weekender where we flip the script on creativity! Dive into a wave of inspiration off-the-board from art shows and workshops to community jams and masterclasses – it’s about to be a board meeting like no other. Join us in flipping perspectives and catching your stoke!
The workshop’s objective is to be able to introduce a fun, hands on approach to upcycling and creativity!
In this 1 hour workshop that’s open to all ages and skill levels, you will get to paint on old decks (all provided by us!), and bring them home.
There is no need to worry about technical skills as Nicholas teaches you to breathe new life into old things and have fun with different types of paint.
There will be acrylic paints, spray paints as well as different types of paint markers to experiment and play with, turning these old decks into your very own brand new works of art.
Prepare to get paint on you!
About Nicholas Ong
Nicholas Ong (b. 1995) is a Singaporean artist and painter. His practice navigates the juncture between perception and reception through his experiments as an artist. His works, rooted in personal narratives and external experiences, seek to challenge conventional definitions through painterly sensibilities. Oscilating between social interactions and solitude, Ong explores this through tangible and intangible mediums. Employing light as paint to challenge the boundaries of installations and paintings. His creations embody an interplay of form and substance inviting viewers to contemplate the evocative fusion of environmental effects and material dispositions, simulating a dynamic dialogue between the observer and the observed.
Nicholas has participated in exhibitions in Singapore and around the region and has been commissioned by the likes of Facebook, M.A.C. Cosmetics, Marvel, Pedro, The Singapore Art Museum and works with a variety of artists in different creative fields.
